The electric buffer uses electricity and the manual buffers use force of the hand to polish the nails and give a glossy finish instantly.
Types of manual nail buffers are as follows:
Manual nail buffers resembling thick nail files used on real and fake nails.
- Soft and friction free padded buffers: These are two sided buffers which are used for smoothing, removing scratch and oil buffing. For best results with oil buffing, drop Solar oil should be massaged on the nails and buffed with the fine surface of nail buffer.
- Extra thick buffer: This is meant for reducing the thickness of the nails and smoothen it. The rough side should be used only on artificial or acrylic nails. The medium side should be for re-balancing the artificial nails. The finer end is used for smoothing and giving the shaping.
Thick rectangular block like buffer used on real and artificial nails: This is a clean white buffer embedded on a foam block. Its gives good control for refinement of nails. The white portion is for removing surface scratches and smoothen the nails. The other side is black and has grit which ranges from 360 to 1200. The black portion is to remove the roughness and the gray side is for giving shine
Three-way buffer: These are similar to padded buffers. The coarsest side should be used first and the finest one at the end. This would make the nails gleam without oil or buffing powder. The extra thick buffers will give a longer lasting shine.
Electric nails buffers are expensive than manual buffers and last longer. These are normally for the use of professionals. They move faster than manual ones and nails can be buffed quickly. Otherwise both the buffers serve the same purpose. They have detachable buffers with varying degree of rough and fine surfaces. A good quality electric nails buffers can stimulate blood circulation at the base and make the nails healthy.
