Under Breast Acne Causes And Treatment

It is not unusual to get acne on other areas of the body besides the face. Most of the body has sebaceous or oil glands and if this oil combines with dirt and clogs the pores, you get acne. The chest has as many oil glands as the face and it is not uncommon to get acne in that area. They erupt more during warm weather when you perspire a lot.

Acne in the breast area is present as pustules, white heads and pimples which are not only troublesome but also painful. It is more difficult to treat acne on the body as the skin is thicker than that of the face and absorbs less medicine. Some of the medicine gets wiped off by clothing.

Hygiene is of utmost importance in preventing acne in the under breast area. A regular cleanliness regimen is necessary. Bathe regularly giving special attention to the affected area. Gently use a loofah scrubbing sponge to get rid of dead cells. A mild scrubbing soap can be used. Do not rub hard otherwise it will cause inflammation and irritation where acne is present. Wash the area after heavy perspiration e.g. after exercising.

Keep the area dry by judicious use of talcum powder. Whenever the bra feels wet due to sweat, swap it with a clean and dry one. The pores of the body are larger than that of the face and exude more perspiration. Keep your bed linen clean especially your pillow cover. Change it as often as necessary in warm weather.

Do not use any heavy cream to moisturise the breast area. Give preference to a light moisturiser which has anti oxidants. This will prevent acne as well as wrinkles. For keeping the pores open and preventing excess oil formation cucumber juice is useful. Cleansers containing mandelic acid can be used as well as an acne wash.

A botanical mask can be applied for fifteen minutes before bathing. When showering, it can be washed off. A mud mask is also useful in preventing acne in under breast area. Use a specialised body mask containing tea tree oil. A face mask can be used but as the area to which it has to be applied to is large, it will turn out to be an expensive proposition.

Use cotton underclothes as they are able to absorb sweat. Wear clothes made of breathable fabric to induce evaporation of sweat especially in warm weather or during exercise. Wear light clothes which are not too tight. Do not carry heavy back packs.

Even after due precautions, if you get acne in the breast area, you can treat it with mild benzoyl peroxide. It will shrink and dry up acne. Don’t pick at acne or it may cause bleeding and scarring. Since your skin is already sensitive don’t keep changing products used on the body or trying out different medicines.
